WHAT IS IT?
GeneSight Psychotropic is a pharmacogenomic test. The GeneSight test analyzes how your genetic variations may affect how your body responds to medications for depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental illnesses. It provides your doctor with information on dosage recommendations, which medications may be less effective, or others that may carry a higher risk of side effects based on your genetic makeup.
- Psychiatrists reserve the test for patients who have unsuccessfully tried multiple medications.
- This test is performed only once in your lifetime.
